SSL is developing a set of professional services to build sargassum industry capacity at the individual, organisational and national level. The services below are planned. We welcome conversations with organisations that would like to help shape them.
- Advisory Services
Planned strategic and technical consultancy for governments, coastal hoteliers, port authorities and development banks seeking to understand, manage or invest in sargassum. Engagements would range from policy frameworks and feasibility studies to procurement support and investor-readiness assessments. - Training & Capacity Building
Planned structured curricula, to be delivered through a future SSL Academy (online and in-person), covering sargassum science, collection and logistics, processing technologies, safety protocols and business development. Aimed at coastal operators, municipal teams, tourism businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. - Demonstration Services
SSL plans a Mobile Demonstration Unit (MDU) to take proof-of-concept to client sites once our process has been proven on local feedstock. Intended for government pilot programmes, investor due diligence and community engagement. - Data & Monitoring
Planned subscription intelligence services offering sargassum bloom forecasts, beach impact assessments and product market intelligence, drawing on satellite analytics, in-situ monitoring and a regional dataset SSL intends to build. - Project Development
Planned end-to-end development of sargassum processing infrastructure, from site assessment and technology selection through financing, construction management and commissioning. SSL would act as developer, technical advisor or project manager, depending on client requirements.
SSL Academy
A planned online and in-person training platform, with programmes in sargassum management, processing technology, coastal operations and business development. It is intended to help close a skills gap across the region.
Mobile Demonstration Unit (MDU)
A planned transportable unit to demonstrate sargassum collection, drying and initial conversion at client sites. Once built, it would let partners and investors see the logistics of sargassum processing in real Caribbean conditions.
SSL intelligence Reports
Planned quarterly and annual sargassum industry intelligence reports covering bloom forecasts, beach impact data, processing technology developments, product markets and regulatory updates, for hotel groups, port authorities, governments, insurers and development banks, with bespoke research for specific geographies or investment decisions.
